The adventure of painting is the process of discovery. I think of each painting as a moment in time,a moment which exists so briefly, and then moves into a new reality. Wherever I am is the entry point. The energy and creative potential begins with just a line, a splash of color . The rest is a process of attempting to step aside, and let the work make itself. At those times when I start with an image, I use it as a starting point. superimposing and eliminating forms as the work progresses. I am facinated by the passge of light, the elements of wind and rain, and the translation of the sound of music.
