Biography

Artist Statement

"The preservation and acknowledgement of the passing moment is of primary importance in my work. For me there is no path, paths are made by walking. The adventure of painting is the process of discovery. I think of each painting as a moment in time,a moment which exists so briefly, and then moves into a new reality. Wherever I am is the entry point. The energy and creative potential begins with just a line, a splash of color . The rest is a process of attempting to step aside, and let the work make itself. At those times when I start with an image, I use it as a starting point. superimposing and eliminating forms as the work progresses. I am facinated by the passge of light, the elements of wind and rain, and the translation of the sound of music. It is the inspiration I find in these elements which reinvents itself in each new painting experience."
